Plain-language terms for how we use this website, handle your information and send text messages.

Dominion Surface Technologies ("DST Coatings," "we," "us" or "our") operates dstcoatings.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, request an estimate, call or text us, and how we use and protect it. By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out an estimate request, contact form or survey, call, text or email us, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, phone number, email address, project address or ZIP code, the type of space and floor system you are interested in, your timeline, photos of your floor and any message you write to us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics tools may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to keep the Site secure and to understand how it is used.

Third-party embeds

The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, an embedded Google Map on the Contact page and map tiles from OpenStreetMap on the service-area map. Those providers may receive your IP address when the content loads and process it under their own privacy policies.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your estimate request, schedule a site visit and prepare a written scope and estimate.
  • To communicate with you about your project by phone, email or, with your consent, text message.
  • To follow up after a project is complete, for example to ask how the floor is performing or to request a review.
  • To operate, secure and improve the Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Text messaging (SMS) and your consent

If you check the SMS consent box on one of our forms, or text us first, you agree to receive text messages from Dominion Surface Technologies at the mobile number you provided. These messages relate to your estimate request and project: confirming details, scheduling, reminders, project updates, follow-up questions and occasional service offers. Message frequency varies by project. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You can request a free estimate without opting in to SMS; we will contact you by phone or email instead.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at 571-417-5802 or [email protected]. Full program terms are in our Terms of Service.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. How we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Service providers. We use trusted vendors to run the Site and our business, such as web hosting, a customer relationship management (CRM) and messaging platform that stores your inquiry and sends our calls, emails and texts, and email providers. They may process your information only to perform services for us and are bound by confidentiality obligations. Your SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared with these vendors for their own marketing purposes.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Dominion Surface Technologies, our customers or others.
  • Business transfers. If Dominion Surface Technologies is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

5. How long we keep information

We keep inquiry and project records for as long as needed to serve you, maintain our business records and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 8).

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access-controlled systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and analytics

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and to measure traffic. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings; parts of the Site may not work as intended if you do. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals at this time.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Marketing communications. You can opt out of texts by replying STOP, and out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.
  • Access, correction and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it by emailing [email protected] or calling 571-417-5802. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
  • Virginia residents. Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act you may have the right to confirm whether we process your data, to access, correct or delete it, to obtain a portable copy and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details below. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response.

9. Children

The Site is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Site may link to third-party websites, such as Google Maps or product manufacturers. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
